Pinnacle Animal Hospital

200 Julian Lane, Suite 240
Arden, NC 28704

Katie, RVT:

Katie is a RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician).  She obtained her degree through A-B Tech, and became registered in September 2013.  We were fortunate to have her do her externship that summer and she’s been an official part of our team since August 2013.  She was born and raised in Asheville.  She has her two dogs, Titan a Plott Hound and June Carter, a beagle mix.  Her heart belongs to animal rescue and has a special place for Pit bulls.

Her free time is spent with her husband, Cody and their dogs. They enjoy taking long walks at the Biltmore Estate and when they get home Titan & Carter get to enjoy peanut butter bones or stuffed kongs.  They are both rescues and run her life – she wouldn’t want it any other way.

 Megan, Assistant and Receptionist:

Megan joined Pinnacle shortly after we opened in May 2012, after having worked previously with Dr. McMullan since 2009.  She was born in Pittsburgh and has lived in the mountains of WNC for over 10 years.  She is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in Sociology.  Her passion for animals is apparent from the moment you walk in the door.  Megan is happy to be a part of the Pinnacle Animal Hospital team.  She looks forward to making your visit comfortable whether she's at the front desk, assisting in the room or surgery.

When not working she loves spending time exploring the mountains with her dogs, Brutus and Kodiak, camping and hanging out with friends.  Her other interests include going to see live music, traveling, and photography.

Stephanie, Office Manager:

Stephanie, her husband, Jason, and their handsome orange tabby, Reese, moved from California in 2011.  Since their move, they’ve found home in beautiful Asheville. They have also adopted a second orange tabby, Aidan and in April of 2013 they added in their gorgeous, happy boy, Declan. For Declan's fifth birthday, they adopted 2 Border Collie Mix puppies: Isla and Thor.  Stephanie has a degree in sound arts and worked in the financial industry for six years. Recognizing her personal need to make a difference, she changed careers to join Pinnacle when we first opened.  She is our office manager, and strives to learn more each day about caring for your pets.

When not working, Stephanie spends time reading, exploring Asheville, and spending time with Jason, Declan and their fur babies.  When she’s at work, her goal is to ensure that your pet receives superior care, and that your experience at Pinnacle is the best it can be.

Heather, Assistant and RVT in training:

Heather moved to Asheville from Charleston, SC in early 2014 and has been with Pinnacle since late that year.  She has worked with animals since 2006 as a groomer, kennel technician and veterinary assistant.  In 2016 she began taking courses to obtain her RVT license.  She enjoys working and caring for all types of animals.

Her free time is spent with her boyfriend, Matt, and their 3 dogs: Spud, Cheyenne, and Loco.  They also have pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, and rabbits.  She enjoys hiking and being outdoors.

Tracy, Receptionist

Tracy was born and raised in Wales and have lived in many places such as: Paris, Brussels, Belgium, and Spain. She moved to New Jersey at age 12. Growing up in NJ & PA it never quite felt like home. She moved to Marshall 6 years ago & truly felt like she was finally home. She received herRegistered Nursing degree from Thomas Edison State University and worked as a Registered Nurse for 6 years. She finally decided to follow her dream, and pursued a career working with animals.

In her free time she enjoys hiking with her husband, Joe, and silver lab London, cuddling with their kitten Bodhi, reading, doing puzzles, walking downtown Asheville, listening to music, and cooking.

Aubrey, RVT:

Aubrey joined our team unofficially in May, 2017 and officially in August, 2017.  She attended AB Tech to obtain her RVT credentials, and we were fortunate to have her do her externship with us.

Aubrey is native to WNC, having been born and raised in the Asheville area.  She and her husband Josh have a chihuahua named Lily and a leopard gecko, Treecko.

When Aubrey isn't working she enjoys running, hiking, horseback riding, singing and walking with Lily.

Katie D, Assistant:

Katie started working for Pinnacle Animal Hospital in Oct 2017. She moved from Austin, TX to Asheville,NC  in 2014 looking for a change and seeking cooler weather. Katie went to school at Concordia University Texas studying environmental science and music. She also did a semester at Lees McRae college in Banner Elk studying wildlife rehabilitation. She has been an animal lover ever since she can remember and has owned about every pocket pet out there. For the past two years Katie has been a vet assistant at another animal hospital in Asheville, where she began her career. Prior to that she worked in multiple different pet stores. Katie loves animals of all kinds but wildlife, rodents, and reptiles have her heart.

At home Katie has two tropical fish aquariums, a 15 year African Clawed Frog, and a baby bearded dragon. In her spare time Katie loves singing, hanging out with friends, trying all the local coffee shops, watching every horror movie,  pet sitting, and hanging out downtown. She is ecstatic to be the newest member of the Pinnacle Animal Hospital team! Providing quality, loving care for your pets is her daily goal along with stealing a few free cuddles and slobbery kisses.

Amy, RVT:

Amy moved to Asheville from New York state in 2011 while seeking personal growth and new experiences, and has found the mountains of NC to be a very healing part of her journey. Soon after, she met her tabby cat Layla, and they have been best friends ever since.

Amy joined the Pinnacle Animal Hospital team after graduating Veterinary Technician School in Spring of 2016 from AB Tech. After doing a summer internship at the hospital, she became an office member of our team, and became a registered technician in January 2017. Amy combines her joy of connecting with animals and people to make our clients and their pets' feelings heard, and supported. She especially enjoys taking care of geriatric patients, and giving them the extra gentle care they need.

In Amy's spare time she likes going to flea markets looking for old treasures, spending time outside, taking care of her house plants, spending time with little kids, being silly, doing arts and crafts, eating delicious food, and curling up at home with a book.
